Savannah reports fourth Niger oil strike
Savannah Petroleum reports a fourth indicated discovery of light oil in the R3 part of its R3/R4 production-sharing contract area in southeastern Niger. Wireline logs, fluid samples, and pressure data indicate the Eridal-1 well encountered 13.6 m of net oil-bearing sandstone in the E1 unit of the primary Eocene Sokor Alternances objective. EIA: US crude inventories increase 6.8 million bbl
US crude oil inventories, excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, increased by 6.8 million bbl for the week ended Aug. 10, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration.
