The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) plans an Aug. 15 oil and gas lease sale in the Gulf of Mexico. The sale will include all available unleased areas in federal waters, which is about 78 million acres offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
