IGas Energy PLC, London, encountered more than 250 m of hydrocarbon-bearing shale in its vertical Springs Road-1 exploration well in North Nottinghamshire, England. The company reported “significant gas indications” in Upper and Lower Bowland shale and Millstone Grit sands, all of Carboniferous age.
