State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd. said pipe contracts recently awarded will allow construction to begin in December on a 453-mile natural gas pipeline between Barauni, Bihar, and Guwahati, Assam. The spur line is part of the 2,110-mile Jagdisphur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra system under construction in northeastern India.
